FAQ for all applicants:
| Can I Use a credit card to pay the application fee? | No, unfortunately at this time we can only accept checks and money orders. |
| To whom do I make the check payable? | Please make out all checks to UC REGENTS. |
| Can I pay the application fee after I find out if I am admissible? | No, in order to have your application even looked at it must be complete and the application fee is required. |
| Do I really need two copies of transcripts? | No, you need only send one official copy to the department. |
| If I fill out the International Confidential Financial Statement with $0 will that affect my admission? | No, again, to be considered for admission all material must in out hands and the International Confidential Financial Statement is required for admission. All admission decisions are “need-blind,” meaning that admissions decisions are made without consideration of financial need. |
| If I have a low GRE or TOEFL or GPA can I be admitted provisionally? | No, unfortunately, we do not have a provisional admission. You must meet the minimum requirements. However, we do look at your application as a whole and not just the parts. |
| Should I send only my transcript with my bachelors degree or transcripts from all of my undergraduate institutions? | You must send in transcripts of all college work done after high school. Even if all your units were all successfully transferred. UCR undergrads: This applies to you too! |
| Who should the letters of reference be from? | At least two should be from academic sources, preferable all three. But if there is one person who would like to write one for you or you feel it is pertinent then by all means send it in. You may also have more than three letters. |
| Can I send all of my materials in one envelope? | Yes, by all means save postage! You may put them in one large envelope as long as all official documents are in sealed envelopes. |
